Introduction: tumour:stroma interactions
Abstract
This session will focus on developments in our understanding of the network of interactions between cancer cells and non-transformed cells that occur within a tumour. In particular, presentations will focus on how knowledge of these interactions can be leveraged to improve cancer treatments. Interactions between cancer cells and fibroblasts, macrophages and endothelial cells will be discussed. Learning objectives: 1.Improved understanding of complex interactions between cell types in solid tumours. 2.Information on how these interactions affect responses to chemotherapies. 3.New ideas about how blood vessels may be modified to improve therapeutic responses.
