Abstract

PET (Positron Emission Tomography) is now well established as a useful tool in the management of many types of cancer, and its value in the development and assessment of new therapies is becoming widely recognised. This session will provide an introduction to the principles of PET and some of the various ways in which it can be used in cancer research. Emphasis will be placed on new radiotracers that are likely to become more widely available in next few years.
