Introduction: Predictive mouse models of human cancer
Year: 2011
Session type: Symposia

Abstract
Genetically engineered mouse models of cancer have broadened our understanding of human cancer and have provided an opportunity to develop new therapeutic and diagnostic methods. Indeed, there are now several examples of how information derived from mouse cancer models have substantially directed our effort s towards the development of improved treatments for patients with cancer. In this symposium, we will highlight these three areas from presentations by leading figures in our community, and demonstrate how these efforts influence translational medicine today.
